Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used for the
past 5,000 years and here in the UK we are just realizing its
true potential in the gynecological and pediatric field.
Acupuncture, herbs and Chinese massage are used to treat anything
from period pains, irregular periods, PMT and infertility to inducing
the baby, labour pins and even turning a breech.
Chinese massage is widely used to repair the trauma of childbirth,
such as Synthesis pubis, separation, excessive blood loss and
fatigue and even postnatal depression.
Mrs. Allen from Walthamstow describes her case, "I had a
very long, painful labour and gave birth to a 11lb 3oz baby which
left me limping and unable to go back to my job as a jazz dance
teacher. Sex was impossible. My GP and midwife said the visibly
disjointed pubic bone and pain would eventually go, but 18 months
after the birth I was as bad as ever".
I visited Alison at Ashlins Natural Health (in Walthamstow) and
felt relief after the first treatment. After 2 months of treatment
I was back at work and I only wish I had gone sooner and that
other women knew that they don't have to put up with the pain
and discomfort that childbirth can bring.
Chinese massage is safe from side effects and very effective in
treating childhood diseases. Acupressure is used to bring the
body back into balance and is mostly used for bedwetting, vomiting,
diarrhea, constipation and headaches. The acupressure points can
easily be taught to the parent.
Chinese medicine can also help the father to be. Mr. Lawes from
Chingford says "we have been trying for a baby for two years
and test showed that I had a low sperm count. Somebody recommended
Acupuncture and three treatments later I went back to the doctor
and my count was back to normal!"
